Today is many things—it's Sunday, it's Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon day, it's Hug an Australian Day, National Pretzel Day and Richter Scale Day, according to the internet.

But that's not what I'm excited about—because today, it's also the 3rd annual OKC Listen to Your Mother show. I'm terribly excited about this show for many reasons—as an alum of the 2013 show, I stay involved with the show and the others, who like me, are compelled to share their stories.

The LTYM group here has taught me so much... about trust and love, support and kindness. The importance of connection that I'm still learning about.

I auditioned for the show this year, but didn't make it. That made me sad for about 30 seconds because I really wanted to be a part of it. But although I didn't make it, my husband did. And I'm more excited about hearing him share his story than I was about sharing mine.

I hope you can make it to today's show. (As I write this, the OKC-LTYM ticket link is still active, so there should be a limited number available.) If you don't, I hope you go to the LTYM link and listen to the stories of the women and men who stood in the spotlight before this cast did, and find your way to the stories of those in all the other cities, all across the country, and let LTYM get into your heart.

You won't regret it.
